Erik is a nationally acclaimed sculptor who has a special talent for portraying the human figure with realism and dynamic fluid style. Erik has showcased his work with numerous exhibitions and galleries across the country, and has completed many private commissions along with very impressive monumental figurative sculpture works. His work comprises everything from small-scaled sculpture and drawings to monumental sized bronze statues. Erik has created many pieces of art over the course of his career, but some of the most breathtaking pieces that he has created include: a life-size bronze sculpture of Ms. Rosa Parks on a bus seat for the Rosa Parks Museum and Library in Montgomery, Alabama; six-life size bronze hockey players for the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois; a 125% life-size bronze sculpture of Wayne Gretzky for the Staples Center and the Los Angeles Kings Hockey Club in Los Angeles, CA; a nine and one-half foot tall bronze figure of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for the YWCA of Greater Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI; and a Wisconsin State Firefighter Memorial, which includes three life-size bronze figures in a rescue scene for a monument in a firefighter memorial park on the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin Rapids. Those who have used Erik Blome’s work were thrilled about the finished project. Ms. Anita Peak, executive director for the museum in Montgomery, Alabama thanked Erik for creating the sculpture of Ms. Rosa Parks and told him that he was “able to capture her spirit of 'Quiet Strength' so vividly in this work of art.” Peter Wirtz, the owner and vice president of the Chicago Blackhawks, described why he chose Erik to create the statue for his hockey club, he felt Erik was “going to capture the emotion and historical perspective we wanted to bring to this piece… We wanted to work with someone who would dig deep and capture the emotion we were looking for.” He is available to design, create and install monuments for a variety of venues including:
